Welfare concerns

Our core focus is on the welfare of horses and greyhounds in racing.

There is a specialised Racing Investigations Unit, which investigates any suspected welfare concerns or wrongdoing by people in racing.

Anyone wishing to provide information or make a complaint regarding an integrity or welfare related issue may contact the office as listed below.  You may request your identity remain anonymous and not shared outside the Racing Investigations Unit.

Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may report an integrity-related issue directly to the Racing Integrity Hotline. The Racing Integrity Hotline is attended by members of the Integrity Investigation Unit to receive information provided by members of the public and the racing industry in the strictest of confidence.

Please note Racing WA only has jurisdiction over licensed persons, registered persons, licensed premises and registered thoroughbreds, standardbreds and greyhounds that are actively racing. If your concern does not relate to one of these, please contact the RSPCA.

How to lodge a complaint

Information and complaints from any person that impacts integrity or welfare in thoroughbred, harness or greyhound racing in WA will be accepted in whatever form available, including in person to Racing WA stewards and investigators, in writing by telephone to the integrity message service or by email to the racing integrity unit.
